What Makes OS-01 EYE Unique?
The skin around your eyes has been shown to age faster and contain higher levels of senescent cells. (1) The secretion of inflammatory signals by senescent cells contributes to collagen degradation, resulting in a loss of skin firmness and resilience, which manifests as wrinkling and sagging. (2, 3) That's why the OS-01 peptide, which blocks inflammatory signals by senescent cells, is the perfect ingredient to tackle advanced senescence around the eyes. How the Study Was Conducted?
Following our rigorous lab testing, we partnered with a third-party research organization to test our formula on participants for 12 weeks and then measure its impact on factors like hydration, firmness, and transepidermal water loss at three intervals. Each person applied a dime-sized amount of OS-01 EYE twice daily, alongside a cleanser (PREP), moisturizer (OS-01 FACE), and sunscreen (Neutrogena Oil-free moisture SPF 35) to reduce variability in our results.
Instrumental Evaluation
Getting objective, reliable data is one of the most challenging aspects of testing any skin care product. To take the guesswork out of this process, we settled on four tools to objectively measure skin hydration, skin barrier function, firmness, elasticity, and visual analysis:
- Corneometer: Corneometers use changes in skin capacitance and conductance to measure changes in skin hydration. To ensure reliable results, measurements were conducted in triplicate at each assessment. (5)
- Evaporimeter: Trans-epidermal water loss is a key indicator of skin barrier function; a weakened skin barrier will lose more water to the environment. By assessing the vapor pressure gradient between the skin and surrounding air, evaporimeters help our researchers ascertain improvements in skin barrier function, with lower TEWL indicating enhanced hydration retention. These measurements were taken twice for accuracy. (5)
- Cutometer: Skin is a complex system containing contrasting elastic and viscous fibers, elastin, and collagen. The cutometer uses gentle suction to mechanically deform the skin and provide insights into the biomechanical properties of each subject's periorbital skin. (5)
- Clinical Photography: Clinical before and after photographs of each subject's face were taken using a VISIA-CR scanner. These photographs' accuracy, high quality, and standardized nature allow for a more comprehensive visual analysis of skin condition changes from various angles. (5)

Blinded Expert Clinical-Grade Evaluation
To preserve the study's integrity, an expert grader, blind to previous scores, evaluated each participant’s test site imagery using a standardized scoring system. This approach guaranteed that the evaluations were unbiased and relied solely on observable changes.

They reflected on how the product impacted various skin parameters, including overall appearance, radiance, firmness, hydration, roughness, dark spot reduction, and puffiness. Participants rated their satisfaction on a 5-point scale, complementing objective measurement data and providing a comprehensive understanding of the product's performance.

Finally, we gathered valuable insights through self-assessment questionnaires completed by participants at baseline, week 4, and week 12. What Were the Results of OS-01 EYE’s Clinical Study?

- Improved hydration: 87.5% of users showed an impressive 32.5% average improvement in skin hydration.
- Enhanced skin barrier function: By strengthening the skin barrier, 70% of users showed, on average, a 17% improvement in preventing trans-epidermal water loss.
- Better elasticity: 86% of users showed a marked improvement in under-eye skin elasticity with an average improvement of +23.58%
- Firmer skin: 73% of users showed a significant improvement in skin firmness with an average improvement of +10.19%.
- Improved skin appearance: After just 4 weeks, 90.91% of users reported that the overall appearance of their under-eye skin improved with the daily use of OS-01 EYE.

While we were thrilled to learn that OS-01 EYE showed such promising results, we weren’t exactly surprised. Our prior lab research had already established that OS-01 EYE promotes healthy collagen levels. Because collagen is the main structural protein supporting skin elasticity and firmness, our lab data predicted that OS-01 EYE would show these changes even before our clinical tests were performed. In lab studies observing the expression of key biomarkers associated with collagen production (COL1A1), OS-01 EYE was shown to improve a key collagen synthesis biomarker. (5)
